The battle of the brows is a triple face-off! I am comparing for you, three of the brow mascaras I have been testing out over the last few months. Who will take the Best of the Brow trophy on this one? Let’s find out!
Contender #1
Maybelline Fast Sculpt Brow
The Maybelline Fast Sculpt Brow mascara is one I have been using for over a year now. That alone probably tells you how much I like it.
Pros Include
- It lasts all day long without smudging or flaking
- The small applicator allows for precision
- Isn’t clumpy
- Brush has a square or flat end which helps fluff brows
Cons Include
- Even in black, it is not a super dark mascara
- A tube only lasts 2-3 months of daily use

NYX Thick It. Stick It!
The next contender in the Battle of the Brows is by NYX, a brand that I use quite a lot. I’ve been using this specific brow mascara for a few months and here are some thoughts:
Pros
- Dark and dramatic and works well to make brows pop
- One tube has a lot of product in it
- Comes in 8 different shades
Cons
- Pretty messy to apply and requires a delicate hand
- Thick applicator is not as easy to use
- Clumpy application
- Too much applied will cause smearing or smudging
- Can be a bit flaky
Contender #3
NYX Tinted Brow Mascara
Next up is another brow mascara by NYX. I really wanted to try both by NYX given my love for the makeup brand. I have mixed reviews on this one. Here it goes:
Pros
- Easy to apply
- Very affordable at under $8
- Longer application brush
Cons
- Not overly dramatic or noticeable results
- The longer applicator can create more mistakes or smudges
- Just okay but not great
And the Winner is-
So if you could not tell from the thoughts shared for each contender of the Battle of the Brows, I have a pretty clear winner. First and second place are a bit of a toss up and could go either way!
But for me, the clear winner is the Maybelline Fast Sculpt Brow. I really wanted to love one of the others more and for a bit, thought I would. But with continued use of each, they just weren’t able to create that perfect brow like the Maybelline contender was.
The great thing about all three though is that they are affordable. Each is under $13 and has their own pros. So depending on what you are looking for from dramatic to understated, short or long applicators, one of these should work for you.
The reason that I have a difficult time deciding a Battle of the Brows second and third place contender is because they remaining two both have pros I like and cons that I dislike. I would have to say that I like them an equal amount which just fails in comparison to my #1 winner.
